Gretchen Carlson

Gretchen Carlson is an internationally recognized advocate for women’s rights whose bold actions against Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes helped pave the way for the global #MeToo movement. Named one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World,” she is the author of the bestselling books “Be Fierce” and “Getting Real.” One of America’s most successful television journalists, Gretchen has reported our nation’s biggest stories for nearly two decades at CBS News and FOX News. Since 2017, she has advocated in Congress for the bipartisan “Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Harassment Act,” co-founded the non-profit Lift Our Voices to eradicate forced arbitration and NDAs and returned to television as a special contributor to the new People Magazine show PEOPLE TV. Carlson also hosts a daily straight down the middle news podcast “Get The News With Gretchen Carlson” on Quake Media. Her many honors include the Sandra Day O’Connor Lifetime Achievement award, NOW’s Women of Power and Influence Award and the Radio & Television Digital News Association’s First Amendment Leadership Award. Carlson is a March of Dimes Trustee, a member of Women Moving Millions and supports underserved women through her Gift of Courage Fund.

Roxane Battle

Roxane Battle is Vice President of Advocacy and Community at Sanvello Health, Inc, a full service digital mental health provider, backed by United HealthGroup, a Fortune 6 and one of the largest healthcare companies in the world. Sanvello provides insured behavioral health care to 40 million people around the globe. Sanvello’s app, with 4 million subscribers, is a top-rated app for anxiety, stress and depression. You can see Roxane as host of “Checking in with Roxane Battle” in the Sanvello app, where she uses her gift of storytelling to help people on their mental health journeys by making mental well being relatable. 
Prior to coming to Sanvello, Roxane spent 20+ years as a television journalist, including work as an award-winning news anchor and Emmy-nominated reporter at NBC Minneapolis, CBS, and FOX. Roxane was named an Architect of Change on mariashriver.com and has been featured in Working Mother and Ebony magazines.
A Minnesota native, Roxane earned her undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She completed her master’s degree in journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Her self-help memoir, Pockets of Joy: Deciding to Be Happy, Choosing to Be Free (Whitaker House 2017), became an Amazon best seller in multiple categories.

Healthcare Professionals in the Face of Adversity 
This panel features Becky Tjernagel Turner ’91, a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner currently practicing near Atlanta, Georgia; Dr. Chelsea Bayer '11, an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Michigan, where the majority of her time is spent caring for patients; and Dr. Britta Ramseth Reierson '95 who serves as Senior Medical Director of Employer Health Solutions at Optum. They will discuss the difficulties surrounding leadership in healthcare during trying times, and what it means to lead beyond limits as an essential leader in healthcare.

Entrepreneurial Endeavors and Impacts
This panel features Kelley Nemec (Owner of St. Croix Linens), Mandy Lind Larson (CEO of Castle Danger Brewing), and Mayanthi Jayawardena (Owner of Serendib Creative) discussing their experience leading their own businesses, the importance of start-up businesses, and what it is like working with them.

Leadership Development Workshop: “Going In to Break Out”
Led by Rev. Dr. Siri Erickson and Jody Thone, this workshop will provide learning opportunities for women interested in developing their leadership skills. In times of stress and challenge, it is easy to lose connection to our deepest forms of inner knowing. Drawing on embodied reflection practices, this workshop will guide you through a process to reconnect with your inner wisdom, creativity, and compassion, so that you can break free and lead beyond limits.
