Blu-ray
Blu-ray is an optical disk format that is one level above the DVD standard. The name blu-ray comes from the violet-blue laser that is used to read the data off of the discs. Blu-rays hold about 6 times the amount of data that a DVD can, with the same physical size of standard CD and DVD discs. They are ideal for high definition video playback/storage and are the format of choice for Playstation 3 games.
