This Cole Porter gem is a fizzy cocktail of mistaken identities, tap-dancing sailors, and evangelists preaching the Gospel of Good Times. First performed four months after the repeal of prohibition, Anything Goes captures the Jazz Era's witty wordplay, playful naughtiness, and music that was the life of the party. |
