Article I. NAME 

The name of this organization shall be “Music and Movement”

Article II. PURPOSE

We are a group of students, brought together with a  goal of bettering the community physically, mentally and socially through music and movement. We focus on creating and fostering enduring relationships with not only the Gustavus community, but the larger St. Peter community as well.

Article III: MEMBERSHIP 

Non-Discrimination Statement: This organization shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, disability, and status as a veteran. 

Article IV: ORGANIZATION 

The Music & Movement leadership team is made up of an Advisor, two Co-Presidents, a Secretary, Treasurer, Risk Manager, and an Event Tech Services provider.

Article V: MEETINGS 

Meetings should be held at least once a month, but additional meetings may be helds as the leadership team sees fit. Meetings can be requested by any member of the board at any time.

Article VIII: GENERAL PROVISIONS

CHAPTER 1 STRUCTURE OF THE ORGANIZATION 

1.0 Leadership Team 

  1. The leadership team should maintain relationships and engage regularly within the Gustavus and larger St. Peter community. 
  2. Duties and Responsibilities of the leadership team

Advisor

The advisor shall preside over the Music & Movement organization while offering support and guidance as needed.

Co-Presidents

Two Co-Presidents will schedule and preside over meetings, oversee other leadership positions, delegate/participate as needed to complete event tasks, and maintain open communication with the community. 

Secretary

The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at each meeting and providing notes/details for those not in attendance. 

Treasurer

The treasurer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an appropriate budget for the Music & Movement organization and sponsored events. The treasurer may also propose a budget to the Student Senate to obtain funds for activities/supplies.

Risk Manager

The risk manager will ensure that safety precautions are taken and all events are conducted responsibly and safely. 

Event Tech Services Provider

The event tech services provider will ensure all necessary equipment for activities is reserved and set up for use.

CHAPTER V: ELECTIONS 

5.0 GENERAL RULES

Any individual who is a member of the Music & Motion organization is able to run for a leadership position. Elections are held within the first month of school’s start, to allow enough time to get to know the members but soon enough that they have time to succeed throughout the year and maintain the group’s  mission. The winner is elected for each position based upon majority vote. 

5.2 INAUGURATION

Inauguration will occur immediately upon acceptance of the position after elections have completed. 

5.4 VACANCIES 

Vacancies are to be filled by the remaining board members discretion.
