  1. Article: Title and Purpose Section.
    1. Title and Mission: Statement Gustavus Whittling Club; To provide social whittling opportunities for the Gustavus students.
    2. Purpose: Our goal is to engage students in whittling through teaching them the basics and working on individual projects while having a fun social environment.
  2.  Article: Membership.
    1. Section: Membership. Any student, faculty member, or staff of Gustavus Adolphus College is eligible for membership. A person becomes a member of Gustavus Whittling Club when they join the email list whittlingclub@gustavus.edu however membership is not required to attend weekly meetings. Membership can be revoked if the member is making other members uncomfortable with their words or actions, subject to review by the executive board.
  3.  Article: Executive Board Section: Requirements and Duties of the Executive Board
    1. Only members the Gustavus Whittling Club can hold executive board positions. All elected positions span a one-year term; there are no term limits on elected positions. Rank is determined by the order in which officers are listed in this constitution. All positions can be split between two different members. If this is the case the title will be preceded by “co-”
      1.  President
        1. Schedules weekly meetings and leadership meetings
        2. Represents the organization at student senate meetings
        3. Coordinates teaching of lessons at weekly meetings
        4. Checks in with other Executive Board members to keep them on task
        5. Organizes agendas for all meetings
      2.  Treasurer
        1. Financial advisor and record keeper
        2. Appropriates funding to all programs
        3. Gives final financial approval for all projects
        4. Author and presenter of all senate proposals regarding financial requests or allocations, including but not limited to annual budget request and mid-year allocations.
        5. Submits request for payment forms and ensures payments are made correctly and on time
      3.  Secretary
        1. Keeps and distributes minutes of meetings
        2. Responsible for reserving rooms for meetings
        3. Maintains email lists and sends general announcement emails to the club
      4.  Risk Manager
        1. Responsible for liability forms
        2. Tracks injuries that occur during meeting times
        3. Ensures that all members have been taught basics of whittling or have prior experience before participating to prevent injury
      5.  Marketing and Advertising Officer
        1. Coordinates promotion of all club events, including but not limited to: Posters, flyers, postings, and paid and unpaid advertisements.
        2. Promotes membership drives
        3. Maintains club website
        4. Represents the organization to the general public as well as the collegiate and membership bodies when appropriate.
    2. Section: Election of Executive Board. All elected executive board members shall serve for one academic year. Elections may take place mid-year if deemed necessary, in which case the term of office shall be half a year for the replacement officer. Any member within the club may make nominations, and any member within the club may hold office. Current executive board members will resign their positions at the time the vote of new executive board members occurs. In the case of a tie, a vote among the existing executive board members shall be used to break the tie. If a tie still exists, the president’s vote shall be the decisive vote.
