We invite applications for a Full-time Research Assistant in Dr. Vladimir Sloutsky's Cognitive Development lab (cogdev.cog.ohio-state.edu). The application process begins on October 5 and the starting date is as early as December 1. The successful candidate will assist with research investigating cognitive and developmental processes in preschool and elementary school children (there are also plenty of opportunities to work with infants). Current projects examine word learning, categorization, and the acquisition of early mathematical knowledge. Responsibilities will include data collection, data entry, subject recruitment, database management, communication with parents and teachers, and monitoring of IRB compliance. Qualifications: a bachelor's degree in psychology, cogntitive science, education, human development, or in a related field. Experience working in an educational setting is desirable and interest in research with young children is preferable. Interested candidates please email a cover letter and CV, and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent via email to Jennifer Kaminski (firstname.lastname@example.org). Include "Research Assistant Position" in the subject line. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in getting research experience!
