Gustavus Adolphus College
Academic Strategic Plan

In October 2009, the Faculty Senate created an academic planning subcommittee and charged it to work with the Provost's Office to develop an academic strategic plan. The committee used department and program strategic plan summaries as the basis for its work. From these strategic plans, the committee identified the central strategic priorities for the academic program. Those priorities fell into five categories: student-centered initiatives, compensation and benefits, professional development, information technology and infrastructure, and facilities.

At the 10 March 2010, special Senate meeting, the Senate discussed and endorsed the academic strategic planning document produced by this subcommittee and the Provost's Office. The draft plan was subsequently discussed at the Provost's Council on 15 March 2010, the academic department chairs and program directors meeting on 16 March 2010, and the Faculty Meeting on 19 March 2010. The plan was approved by the faculty at the 30 April 2010 Faculty Meeting.
