Associate Vice President of Mission in Mission, Strategy, and Innovation and Executive Chaplain in Chaplains' Office and Church Relations

Rev. Dr. Grady St. Dennis '92 serves as Associate Vice President of Mission and Executive Chaplain of the Office of the Chaplains/Church Relations at Gustavus Adolphus College. An ordained Lutheran minister, Grady has served the Gustavus community since 2007. As a senior administrator within the College's Mission, Strategy, and Innovation divison, Grady provides support and input for College-wide strategic initiatives, religious and spiritual life enhancement, and leadership development.  He also oversees the College's relations with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and its congregations, with particular attention to the Gustavus Adolphus College Association of Congregations (GACAC).

A proud 1992 graduate of Gustavus, Grady earned his M.Div. from Luther Seminary in St. Paul and D.Min in Transformational Leadership from the School of Theology at Boston University. Prior to Gustavus he served (1999-2007) as Associate Pastor at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Grady is an effective and enthusiastic leader who wholeheartedly believes in Gustavus' educational approach of attending to the development of the whole person: spiritual, physical, intellectual, relational, and emotional. Grady and his wife Angie are proud parents of two daughters Anna '18 (Jacob '18) and Isabel '21 (Adam), and very much beloved grandson Griffin.
