Jeannie PetersonStaff

Library Operations Coordinator in Library

I have always LOVED office work and remember playing "office" with my younger sister growing up.  I began my college career pursuing a degree in accounting; however, switched majors to education pursuing certifications to teach.

I’ve worked within the accounts receivable department for the City of Spearfish (SD) and thoroughly enjoyed the variety of the position as well as the people who shared our office.

I’ve served approximately 10 years in the South Dakota Army National Guard achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant with the 740th Transportation Unit. Our unit was activated for Desert Storm serving six months overseas.

I’ve had the opportunity to live in beautiful western NY State.  I had the extreme pleasure to be an "at-home" mom for two beautiful children, Tanner and Emily, as well as enjoy life in a charming rural village for all too short of a period of time.

Since my work began at the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library in 2010, I have found great enjoyment serving on internal committees as well as various campus committees.  I appreciate the variety my position offers as well as the friendly and generous atmosphere of Gustavus students, staff, and faculty.
