Laboratory, Simulation & NCLEX Prep Coordinator in Nursing

Hello! As a alum of Gustavus Adolphus College in 2011, I have spent lots of time on the Gustavus Campus! I am thrilled to be a part of the "Gustavus Family", espeically the Nursing department.  My role in the department is mainly in the Lab setting.  I instruct Junior level nursing students lab skills that are vital in the nursing profession.  Some of these include: vital signs, medication administration, IV care, foley insertion, head to toe assessments, NG insertion, etc.  I also coordinate simulations along with the other faculty in the department.  With 5 different high fidelity mannequens, the students are able to care for geriatric, adult, obstetric, and pediatric patients in a simulated experience.  Part of my role at GAC is to prep our students for the NCLEX-RN by assisting in monitoring their progress of ATI and aid in learning study techniques to help better prepare for their boards.  I also currently work on a telemetry floor at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato, as both a staff and charge nurse.
