So Young Park is a Professor of English. She teaches courses in nineteenth- and early twentieth-century British literature, film studies, and East Asian cinema. She received her PhD from the department of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University in New York. Her research encompasses Victorian studies, especially Aestheticism and the 1890s, as well as Korean popular culture. Recent publications include an essay on the Irish poet Dora Sigerson Shorter in Extraordinary Aesthetes: Fin-de-Siecle Writing and the Cultures of Aestheticism. She is an affiliated faculty member of Film and Media Studies, Comparative Literature, and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies.
