Curriculum Vitae
Lisa M. Dembouski, Ph.D., is the Lind Professor of Education and an Associate Professor of Elementary and Secondary Education at Gustavus. She has been a mental health worker, Peace Corps volunteer, and wilderness survival counselor before beginning work in her true passion and profession: education. She taught for 15 years in public K-12 schools before finding her next true love: teacher preparation. Dr. Dembouski instructs a variety of courses in Education (EDU), and supervises teacher candidates in local and "away" field placements. She also devotes a great deal of her time and energy supporting Global Educators, a highly unique opportunity for Gustavus EDU majors to complete part of their student teaching semester in locales outside of Minnesota, such as Spain, Hawaii, Alaska, Arizona, and a handful of other destinations that are currently in development.
