Thank you, Gustavus community... You really "dug deep" this year to make Nobel Conference 54 happen. You arranged, you acted, you built, you cleaned, you connected, you cooked, you danced, you directed, you discussed, you dug, you experienced, you fostered, you guided, you hosted, you inspired, you jumped in, you kicked butt, you leapt in, you moved, you nurtured plants and worms, you organized, you observed, you parked, you played, you polished, you pondered, you quit, you rigged, you served, you set up, you took down, you undertook what needed doing, you varnished, you visualized, you welcomed, you wired, you xeroxed, you yacked, yapped and yammered (but never yauped) with our guests, you zipped around and zeroed in on the task that needed doing. You were there. The responses from our audience and our speakers have been overwhelmingly positive. (Please tell us about any that weren't!) We can't begin to thank you enough! -- Lisa Heldke, Nobel Conference Director, and Barb Larson Taylor, Senior Director of Institutional Events.

“Clamoring for Change” Social Media Platform...Dr. Guy Nave, professor of religion at Luther College, developed Clamoring for Change, a new social media platform, during his recent sabbatical. Guy is ready for a soft launch of the platform, which is designed to foster civil discourse about challenging issues. He hopes “…the site will initially be used by academics…” and that faculty in the NECU community will agree to become contributors. The project will be introduced through a webinar on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 11 a.m. CST. To register for the webinar, email Melinda Valverde. Faculty or administrators interested in the project may also visit online to learn more, or they may contact Professor Nave directly.

"Plugs" is maintained as a forum by which members of the Gustavus community may offer goods and/or services to others in the community, or seek the same from them. It is not meant to accommodate ads or announcements from area businesses such as real estate agents or retailers, although from time to time such announcements may be published when deemed to be of particular interest to the community.
