GWSS Research and Scholarship Grants...Thanks to the generous support of alumni through GWSS endowment funds, the Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies program is able to distribute a small number of research grants to support scholarship or creative work that contribute to the fields of gender, women, and/or sexuality studies. Faculty or staff with limited or no access to other College resources will receive priority (e.g. adjunct faculty, especially in first year). Grant amounts will vary based on the number of applications but will likely range from $200-$400.

The deadline for applications is midnight on March 6, 2016. Applicants may request funding for expenses incurred between June 1, 2015 and May 31, 2016. For more information about the application process, please visit this link. If you have questions about propriety of expenses or means of documentation, please make inquiries with the chair of the GWSS program (currently Martin Lang, mlang3@gustavus.edu) before you file an application.

Mugging the Market Place...Dining service is asking for mug donations again this year. Calling all fiber artists of any kind...knitting, crocheting, weaving, spinning, tatting, felting, etc. Would you be willing to share with a new generation of fiber artist some of your wisdom? I would like to compile a list of people who are willing to have one-on-one conversations with students from my IEX class (Social and Art Knitting). You do not have to be an expert or an interest in teaching as the goal is to have students explore the communal and spiritual aspects of fiber arts. If interested, please fill out the survey  If you have questions or ideas to share, please email  or call S. Brookhart Shields at x7330.

Accreditation Report Update...The assessment progress report to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) has been placed on reserve in the library and will remain available for the months of January and February.
