Kendra Frey

Kendra Frey is a first year violinist from Fairbanks, Alaska, double majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry at Gustavus Adolphus College. She started playing the violin at the age of four and has performed as the Concertmaster of orchestras such as the Fairbanks Youth Symphony (2009-2012), Marrowstone Summer Music Concert Orchestra (2009, 2010), Alaska All-State Honor Orchestra (2010, 2011), MENC (NAfME) National High School Honor Orchestra (2011), and most recently the Eighth International Orchestra Camp in Lüchow Germany (2012). She was the winner of the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition in 2004, 2010, and 2011, and the Senior Division winner of the Alaska State MTNA Solo Performance Competition in 2011. At Gustavus, she studies violin with Conor O’Brien, plays in a piano quintet, and serves as the Assistant Principal Second Violin in the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra.
