Women in Leadership
10/21: Women, Change and Vocation
President Becky Bergman, Senior Director of Marketing Barb Larson Taylor, and Distinguished Ethics Professor Kathy Lund Dean will speak on a panel discussing women, change and vocation. Through their employment, family needs and vocational journey, each woman professional will share her insight on her own experiences and path. The event will begin at 7 pm in Alumni Hall.
11/09: How to Dress Professionally in the Workplace
Ashley Schroeder from Aerotek, a leading staffing agency that matches qualified candidates with top companies worldwide, will present in regards to professional attire. This event will include a fashion show, discussion and food. The event will kick-off at 7pm in BH101.
11/17: GWiL Career Development Night
An event devoted to enhancing your professional platform. The event will include three seminars on resumes, cover letters and the interview process. Additionally, a representative from Marketing and Communications will be taking professional headshots throughout the night. Guest speakers will include Caitlin Bayer ‘14 , Ashley Michalko ‘14. Lydia Benge-Briggs ‘13 The event will kick-off at 7pm in BH101.
2/18: Cultural Assessment
Kari Lundberg of Northwestern Mutual will be presenting and discussing individual results of the professional personality test. It is a survey that is not pass/fail. It is about knowing who you are and how you are wired by measuring different traits. It allows you to create a win-win by you putting yourself if your strength zone. It allows you to be the best YOU and find a role that aligns with your strengths. It is a great tool to utilize in preparing for the internship/career search. It also serves as a great coaching tool in athletics, in the workplace, and ultimately in relationships with those around you! The event will kick-off at 7pm in BH101.
03/15: Professional Women’s Roundtable
Moderated by professional members of the National Advisory Board, each member will have the opportunity to “speed date” with successful professional women. There will be between 15-20 women in attendance who span across different fields and industries. The event will kick-off at 7pm in Alumni Hall.
05/11: Closing Ceremony
We will conclude the 2015-2016 academic year with a closing ceremony dedicated to the recap of member metrics, social media platforms, events, volunteering contributions, the annual conference, leader and senior recognition, induction of the new board and the future of Gustavus Women in Leadership! The event will kick-off at 7pm in BH101.
This annual conference brings together alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of the college to listen to speakers on women's leadership development. The theme of the conference this year will focus on change management both individually and at the organizational level.
