Batman for Windows
- Click the Start button.
- In the search box or on Windows 8 start typing: \\batman.gustie.gac.edu.
- Click enter.
- A window will open showing the list of printers available on batman. Double click the printer you want to install and wait for it to install.
- Test the printer.

Marco for Windows
- Launch SoftwareCenter and install Gustavus Print Client (Paper Cut Client), as the user.
- Click the Start button.
- In the search box or on Windows 8 start typing: \\marco.gustie.gac.edu.
- Click enter.
- A window will open showing the list of printers available on marco.
- Double click the printer you want to install and wait for it to install.
- Restart the machine and verify that Gustavus Print Client (Paper Cut Client) is running.
- Test the printer.
Marco for Macintosh
- Munki (10.9 or newer - with Managed Software Center)
- Launch Managed Software Center.
- Find the printers you want to install and click Install.
- Wait for the updates to run and restart the computer.
- Verify that Paper Cut Client is running.
- Test the printer.
- Non Munki (10.8 or older - without Managed Software Center)
- From the Finder select the Go menu, then select Connect to Server...
- Connect to: afp://macsoft.gac.edu/Software/Canon Printer Installers.
- Enter your username and password.
- Select the appropriate department.
- Install all printer drivers (*.dmg) from the departmental folder.
- Move all *.pkg files for the desired printers to the desktop and run them.
- Verify that Paper Cut Client is running.
- Test the printer.
- Delete the *.pkg files from the Desktop.
- From the Finder select the Go menu, then select Connect to Server...
HP for Windows
- Open the Devices and Printers Control Panel.
- Select Add a Printer (located on the upper menu bar of the window).
- Select The printer that I want isn't listed.
- Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname Click Next.
- Input the Hostname or IP address. Un-check Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use Click Next.
- Remember, hostnames are entered in the format: Printer'sDNSName.subdomain.gac.edu.
- It is suggested that you use the hostname, if the hostname does not work, then revert to the IP.
- Driver Installation:
- Select HP Under the Manufacturer menu, and select HP Universal Printing PS at the bottom of the HP driver selection then click Next.
- If prompted, select Replace the current driver then click Next.
- Printer Name. Give the printer a name that the faculty/staff member will be able to identify. (Ex: Department Printer, Color Printer by Huff's Office, Printer outside the door, etc) then click Next.
- Select Do not share this printer when prompted for sharing settings then click Next.
- The printer will then install, and you are given the option to set the printer as default and to print a test page.
- Click Finish.
- Test the printer, if you did not do it during the installation process.
HP for Macintosh
- Open System Preferences and select Print and Scan.
- Click the Plus Sign in the bottom left of the preference pane to add a new printer.
- If necessary, select the Unlock to add a printer.
- Select the IP icon from the selection and add the the following:
- Address - Input the Hostname or IP address.
- Remember, hostnames are entered in the format: Printer'sDNSName.subdomain.gac.edu.
- It is suggested that you use the hostname, if the hostname does not work, then revert to the IP.
- Protocol - Select Line Printer Daemon - LPD
- Name - Printer Name. Give the printer a name that the faculty/staff member will be able to identify. (Ex: Department Printer, Color Printer by Huff's Office, Printer outside the door, etc).
- Location - Enter the actual location of the printer (Ex: Beck Hall 146)
- Use - This should auto fill
- WARNING If it says use Generic you need to Select Software and choose the correct printer
- Address - Input the Hostname or IP address.

Residence Hall/GTS/Lab Macintosh
This is where the information for the Macintosh Residence Hall, GTS Lab or other non-marco printer installer directions for Macintosh will go.
Residence Hall/GTS/Lab Windows
This is where the information for the Windows Residence Hall, GTS Lab or other non-marco printer installer directions for Windows will go.
HP Windows
- Open the Devices and Printers Control Panel.
- Select Add a Printer (located on the upper menu bar of the window).
- Select Add a Local Printer. For Windows 8, select Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname and move on to #5.
- In the Choose a printer port window, select Create a new port, and select Standard TCP/IP Port from the pop-down options. Click Next.
- Input the Hostname or IP address. Un-check Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use.
- Remember, hostnames are entered in the format: Printer'sDNSName.subdomain.gac.edu.
- It is suggested that you use the hostname, if the hostname does not work, the IP address will work.
- Driver Installation:
- For Windows 8, any PCS6 driver will work with any PCS printer.
- For Windows 7, select HP under the "Manufacturer" menu, and select HP Universal Printer PS under the "Printers" menu.
- For Windows XP, you will have to locate the exact driver for the printer from the "Printers" menu. If the printer is an HP Laser Jet 4200, locate the "HP LJ 4200" driver.
- If given the option to Use the driver that is currently installed (recommended), do that.
- Printer Name. Give the printer a name that the faculty/staff member will be able to identify. (Ex: Department Printer, Color Printer by Huff's Office, Printer outside the door, etc).
- Select Do not share this printer when prompted for sharing settings.
- The printer will then install, and you are given the option to print a test page or set the printer as the system default.
- Click Finish.
- Test the printer, if you did not do it during the installation process.
Marco HP Macintosh
Marco with Papercut Macintosh
- Munki (10.9 or newer - look for Managed Software Center)
- Open Managed Software Center.
- Select the Printers you want to install.
- Make sure Paper Cut Client is launched.
- Test printing.
- Non Munki (10.8 or older - won't find Managed Software Center)
- Map afp://macsoft.gac.edu/Software/Canon Printer Installers (Go - Connect to server).
- Select the appropriate department folder.
- Install the appropriate driver from the departmental folder. *.dmg files.
- Move the *.pkg files for the desired printers to the desktop and run them.
- Make sure the Paper Clue Client is launched.
- Test printing.
- Delete *.pkg from desktop.
Marco with Papercut Windows
- Install the Gustavus Print Client (Paper Cut Client) from the Software Center, as the user.
- Visit \\marco.gustie.gac.edu and install the appropriate printers by double-clicking on each individual printer you want installed.
- Restart the machine and verify that the Gustavus Print Client (Paper Cut Client) starts.
- Test printing.
