The Hillstrom Museum of Art

NOTE: due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Museum is open for drop-in visit for on-campus parties only (students and employees), 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Currently, members of the general public wishing to visit the Museum will need to be invited to campus as a guest. Those interested must email to make a request. Please note that this process typically takes two or more days and is handled entirely through email.

Any visitor will be required to wear a mask and observe appropriate social distancing and follow appropriate sanitizing guidelines, including undergoing a prescribed health self-assessment the day of a visit.

Please note that the Museum is closed between exhibitions and during breaks of the College; exhibition dates are available online.


The Hillstrom Museum of Art is the art museum of Gustavus Adolphus College, located in St. Peter, Minnesota.

The Hillstrom Museum of Art has spacious galleries, and during the academic year has an active schedule of temporary exhibitions of national, international, and regional artwork, art from the permanent collection, and also exhibits of student and faculty artwork.

During operating hours, the Hillstrom Museum of Art is staffed by museum guards. For most exhibitions, brochures are available free of charge. There is no admission fee for exhibits and related programming and events. The Museum is generally closed when class is not in session. This includes summer and semester breaks.
