Frequently Asked Questions

The following information will answer questions frequently asked regarding Christmas in Christ Chapel.

Plan to arrive early to ensure adequate time for parking and finding a seat prior to the start of the service.

COVID-19 MODIFICATIONS

Currently there are no specific modifications for COVID-19. Those who have symptoms should wear a mask or not attend. Plans may change

TICKETING

  • All tickets are reserved seating. Doors to Christ Chapel open one hour prior to the service. Please plan to be seated at least 15 minutes before the start of the service.
  • Similar to other major concert venues, tickets should be printed at home and brought to the service to be scanned for entry.
  • Tickets are non-refundable after November 20.
  • If the College cancels any performance due to the pandemic, guests will receive a full refund for ticket purchases.
  • To replace a forgotten ticket at the door, please go to will call.
  • Cost: Christmas in Christ Chapel costs $35 per assigned seat and the Holiday Buffet costs $30 per adult | $10 ages 5-12.

SEATING

  • Doors open one hour prior to the service.
  • All seating is reserved.
  • Seats are selected at ticket purchase.
  • Ushers will help guests find their seating location.
  • A limited number of disability seats are available for purchase for those in wheelchairs/walkers unable to move into a pew.
  • Plan to be in your seat by 2:15 for Saturday at 2:30 service / 7:15 p.m. for Friday and Saturday 7:30 service / 3:45 p.m. for Sunday 4:00 service
    Guests should arrive before 2:15 p.m., 3:45 or 7:15 p.m. to have time to be seated. Nearly 300 choir members fill the main entrance of the Chapel starting 10 minutes before the start of the service making it difficult to be seated. If guests are not seated when the service starts, they will need to remain in the entry until the first congregational hymn, which is 15 minutes into the service. Please review your tickets to find your seat location and Chapel diagram to expedite finding seats. Guests may enter the east, north, or west doors.

PARKING

  • Many guests attend Christmas in Christ Chapel, so please allow ample time for driving, traffic, parking, and walking to Christ Chapel.
  • Vehicles will be allowed to drive close to Christ Chapel for drop-off or pick-up only.
  • Limited disability-accessible parking for people with valid permits is available on the west side of Christ Chapel.

LODGING OPTIONS

A list of selected area hotels. We suggest reservations be made as soon as possible.

SPECIAL NEEDS ASSISTANCE

  • To ensure the best accommodations for special needs, please allow ample time prior to the service and contact an usher upon arrival.
  • Wheelchair seating is available at the designated disability seats.
  • If the disability seats are no longer available at time of purchase, please call 507-933-7520 for assistance.
  • Christ Chapel has one gender neutral accessible restroom on the main floor at the north entrance.

MEAL OPTIONS

  • Eat at the amazing holiday buffet prior to the service. Conveniently located on campus. Get your tickets.
  • The Evelyn Young Dining Room is located on the upper level at the north end of the Campus Center offers a wide selection of food and beverage choices. Items may be purchased there with cash, and students are welcome to use their meal plans for their guests.
  • A list of selected area restaurants. Please be aware that most of the local restaurants are usually busy this weekend and are not within easy walking distance of campus.

Weather Alert

If there is a winter weather advisory in effect in Saint Peter prior to the start of the service, we may be forced to suspend reserved seating at 15 minutes prior to the start of the service in order to not interrupt the service and accommodate late arriving guests. Late arriving guests will be directed to open seating. An announcement will be made in Chapel if this needs to occur.

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Christmas in Christ Chapel typically is 90-100 minutes long with no intermission.
  • For emergency assistance, please contact Campus Safety at 507-933-8888.
  • Personal video or flash photography and audio recording are not permitted.
  • Make sure that cell phones are turned off or muted.
  • Please be aware that cameras and booms will be in use during the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday services to produce the live stream broadcast on Saturday evening.
    • Video cameras will not be present at the Sunday service.
    • If you prefer to attend a service without cameras, we recommend you choose the Sunday service.
    • Camera locations are noted on the seating diagram.
