 The Phonathon Campaign runs September 19 - November 12, 2020 with shifts Monday through Friday 5:45-9:00pm and Sundays 11:00 am- 3:00 pm & 5:00 - 8:15pm. Each year, the Gustavus Student Phonathon reaches out to tens of thousands of Gustie alumni, parents and friends to discuss important happenings at Gustavus and to invite their philanthropy to the Gustavus Fund. We can't do this without a passionate group of student callers who are dedicated to strengthening the relationship between these groups and the College, while serving as an ambassador for Gustavus. 

Responsibilities:

• Be an enthusiastic ambassador of Gustavus, its history, programs, and alumni and supporters
• Contact alumni and friends of the College via the phone to encourage gifts to the Gustavus Fund
• Gain a greater understanding of Gustavus, its organizational structure, and its annual needs for financial support.
• Properly and timely record data relating to the Phonathon program
• Handle personal information with extreme confidentiality
• Commit to 2-3 Phonathon shifts per week, unless otherwise noted
• Help recruit other callers by word of mouth and at Involvement Fairs
• Once experienced, assist in training of staff for Phonathon
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Skills needed:

• Excellent communication and phone skills
• Strong computer skills (Word Processing, Excel a plus)
• Responsible, mature, energetic individual who will not take rejection from their work personally
• An understanding of and appreciation for Gustavus and its history
