Ellen J. Kennedy, Ph.D., directs the Genocide Intervention Network’s work in Minnesota, focusing on education about genocide with special attention on Darfur; legislative advocacy for conflict resolution; and fund-raising to enhance both security and humanitarian aid in crisis situations. Kennedy, a sociologist, is also the Outreach Coordinator at the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, University of Minnesota. She promotes holocaust and genocide education with Minnesota educators through conferences and special programs.
Ellen Kennedy will provide background about the 21st-century’s first genocide—the crisis in Darfur, Sudan, through a film and discussion.
