WMF Vulnerability Updated InfoJanuary 12, 2006All day

Patch Info
Microsoft released a patch for the WMF Vulnerability earlier (1/5/06) than they projected. All Windows users should run Windows Update and apply all critical patches.

Temporary Fix
Gustavus (and many others) recommended that users un-register the dll that caused the vulnerability. We sent this information to all users in the form of an email with a link to a bat file that unregistered the dll.

Re-Registering the dll
After users have successfully run Windows Update, they need to re-register the dll responsible for the nice image viewing options to work.
From the Start Menu select Run.
In the Run dialog type cmd.
In the command window type the following command:
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
Close the command window.
