Unissued Diplomas Exhibit and Events - Unissued Diplomas is a worldwide exhibition that honors the memory of 40 Ukrainian students who will never graduate because their lives were taken by the Russian full-scale invasion that started on February 24, 2022. Gustavus will be participating in this international collaboration with several on campus events. You are invited to attend as many as you wish in order to help raise awareness and compassion on our campus. Opening Reception will will be on Monday, February 24, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Beck Hall Atrium. Join Gustavus faculty members to mark the opening of our campus exhibition with a small reception of Ukrainian treats and a presentation introducing the exhibit and this international movement. Community Conversation and Cuisine will be on Monday, February 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Center for Inclusive Excellence, Campus Center. Join members of the Ukrainian community in Minnesota to engage in conversation, community building, and sampling of Ukrainian cuisine. Morning Praise Service will be Tuesday, February 25 from 11:30 to 11:50 a.m. in Christ Chapel. Join the Chaplain's office for a service dedicated to honoring and celebrating Ukrainian culture featuring Ukrainian music, a message focused on Ukraine, and Ukrainian sweets and teas. Social Justice inAction will take place on Thursday, February 27 from 11:30 to 11:50 a.m. in Christ Chapel. Join various student organizations for an activity focused on expressing the desire for just and sustainable peace in world conflicts. Unissued Diplomas Exhibit will be on display from Friday, February 28 through Thursday, March 20 in the Gustavus Library Associates Reading Room, Folke Bernadotte Library. Stop by anytime during library opening hours to read and honor the stories of the 18 Ukrainian students featured in our exhibit. There will be information available about Ukraine, ways to support those suffering during the war, and a space to share your thoughts and ideas.
