A public talk by Yale University historian David Blight on Monday April 11 at 7:00 pm in Alumni Hall.

The author of the magnificent Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, Prophet of Freedom: Frederick Douglass (2018).  A distingished historian of the Civil War and author of the Pulitzer Prize-winnning biography Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom, Blight is the Sterling Professor of History, of African American Studies, and of American Studies and Director of the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale.  Douglass was an escaped enslaved person turned fiery abolitionist who authored the greatest slave narrative of all time and became the most important Black leader in the 19th-century U.S. and abroad.  A Q&A and book signing will follow Blight's talk.
