Join Jonas Hassen Khemiri and translator Rachel Willson-Broyles for a talk on Khemiri's novel Montecore and the challenges of translating it into English. There will be books for sale.

Born in Sweden in 1978, Khemiri is the author of two novels " Ett ??ga r??tt [One Eye Red], and Montecore: en unik tiger [Montecore] " as well as a collection of plays and short stories. He has won several literary awards, including the Swedish Radio Award for best novel of the year and the PO Enquist Literary Prize for the most promising young European writer. He currently divides his time between Stockholm and Berlin.

Willson-Broyles is a freelance translator specializing in literature. In addition to her translation work, she is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Scandinavian Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her BA in Scandinavian Studies from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2002 and her MA in Scandinavian Studies from UW-Madison in 2007. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin.
