Announcement: Social Justice Soup

Social Justice Soup will be Saturday, November 22 at 4 p.m. in Anderson Theatre on the Gustavus Campus. Students from Gustavus Adolphus College and St. Peter High School will perform original work in a show called Social Justice Soup. This presentation includes scenes, monologues, poetry and comedy students have created in response to a number of important issues and events. Especially featured in the "soup" are performances created for Standing Up to Genocide, a program that partners Gustavus Students and St. Peter high school students on projects that increase awareness of genocide throughout the world. Gustavus senior Ella Bonner is the coordinator and the narrator of the performance. Other featured participants include Marlinda Sherbert and Maggie Sotos. Standing up to Genocide is sponsored by The Genocide and Holocaust Center at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Social Justice Soup is sponsored by the Department of Theatre and Dance, and includes students from classes including Creating Social Justice Theatre and Poetry of Protest.
