Description

Sister Outsider stands at the intersection of art and activism, using poetry as a tool for social change. Through spoken word, they connect deeply personal stories to a diverse range of social and political issues, particularly around race, gender and sexuality, and how those tie into being an "other." More specifically, poems focus on Latin@, black, and multicultural identities, homophobia, surviving sexual assault, reclaiming women's bodies, immigration, language, educational inequalities, coming of age, and more.
