Description
Wayne Allen, an anthropologist at Minnesota State University Mankato, will give a lecture on his cultural and archaeological research on shamanism, the use of hallucinogens in the induction of shamanic trance state, and how shamans are "masters of the spirits" in a variety of senses, including the sense of "masters of psyches" and psychological legerdemain.
