"Reading Scripture Through Other Eyes," Trinity Institute National Conference site at GustavuJan 19, 2011 at midnight to Jan 21, 2011 at 11:59 p.m.

How do we read scripture? Do we read Scriptures on our own, deciding what to believe? Do we read them as part of a group of people with a similar mindset? Do we read them with a world view? Often in times of change, we find our grounding in reading scripture, but what we read and believe may be different from what others around the world read and believe. Join us as we consider these questions and others in order to become more conscious of what we are looking for when we return to the Bible as a source of inspiration. Gustavus will be a partner site for Trinity Institute's 41st national theological conference for three days on January 19-21, "Reading Scripture Through Other Eyes." The conference will be a live web-broadcast, with keynoters Walter Brueggemann, Mary Gordon, Teresa Okure, and Gerald West. Times: Wed. 4pm-8:00pm; Thurs. 8-4:30; Fri. 8-4:00. Facilitated small group discussion will address questions in a theological context. Register now to reserve your place. (Attendees may qualify for two CEUs -- information available.)
