Randall Bass, a national expert on rethinking the way that students learn, will present a 30-minute presentation and a 30-minute question-and-answer period on such issues as: The research on the role of non-course experiences on the overall student experience, the challenge that the "post course eera presents for colleges trying to offer a coherent undergraduate experience, the use of e-portfolios and other Web 2.0 tools to make this wider context for student learning visible and to measure student achievement both in and out of class, and why these tools are replacing traditional measures, and the importance of academic affairs and student life officials working together in new ways in this environment.
