Description
The English Department and Three Crowns presents a poetry reading by award-winning, nationally aclaimed poet Danez Smith. Smith is the author of [insert] Boy, winner of the 2014 Lamda Literary Award for Gay Poetry, which judge Chase Twitchell descried as "remarkable for its nervy, surprising, morally urgent poems." Smith's second book, Don't Call Us Dead, was a finalist for the 2017 National Book Award. Winner of a National Endowment for the Arts grant, the Forward Prize, and Four Quartets Prize, Smith is a founding member of the Dark Noise Collective.
