The People Behind the Science Lecture Series" through the Biology Department has invited seven speakers to give seminars about their research specialties and career paths throughout J-term, and we invite you to attend! This series is designed to show the diversity of early- and late-stage STEM careers in biology and highlight the real and relatable people that are behind the science.

Our next speraker will be Dr. Scott Dee a researcher in swine veterinary medicine from PIPESTONE who studies biosecuity risks in swine. His talk will be live-streamed in Nobel Hall 1540 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, January 17 and will focus on next generation biosecurity for the swine breeding. Our next speaker will be Dr. Elise Anderson a psychiatrist, who will be giving a seminar on the medical school experience and the challenges and considerations when transitioning to residency on Friday January 19 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
