A new virus started traveling across the internet on Monday. It arrives as an email attachment with a
.bat, .cmd, .exe, .pif, .scr, or .zip extension.
It is currently estimated that one in twelve messages being delivered today is infected. Gustavus filters email attachments, so the active content is not being delivered.
Users may notice bounces from attempted deliveries, as the virus has the ability to spoof the from address. They may also get notification from the Gustavus system that someone attempted to send them an infected message.
