Description

Imagining Peace eis the topic of Gustavus Adolphus College's 30th annual MAYDAY! Peace Conference.

Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer, assistant professor of justice and peace studies at St. Thomas University, St. Paul, and a nationally recognized writer, public speaker, and activist committed to nonviolent social change, opens the daylong conference at 10:00 a.m. in Christ Chapel. The afternoon schedule includes an audience-participatory World PeaceGame simulation workshop and the final round of the MAYDAY! Oratory Contest featuring senior high school speech students.

Conference organizers are also planning a resource center and other social-action activities.

The conference, an annual event designed to educate the campus community and beyond about issues related to peace, human rights, and social justice, is open to the public at no charge.
