Dr. Owen Flanagan, speaker at the 2015 Nobel Conference, will return to campus for several weeks in March to serves as the Drs. Robert E. and Susan T. Rydell Professorship scholar-in-residence.

On Friday, March 11 at 10 a.m. Dr. Flanagan and Dawn Mikkelson will present in Daily Sabbath focused on the power of forgiveness.

Dr. Flanagan is the James B. Duke Professor of Philosophy and professor of neurobiology at Duke University. He has done work in philosophy of mind, philosophy of psychology, philosophy of social science, ethics, contemporary ethical theory, and moral psychology.

Dawn Mikkelson, an independent filmmaker, is Founder of Emergence Pictures and partner, director and editor at Twelve Plus Media.

The Rydell Professorship is a scholar-in-residence program designed to bring Nobel laureates and similarly distinguished scholars to the Gustavus campus as catalysts for enhancing learning and teaching. It was established in 1995 by Drs. Robert E. and Susan T. Rydell of Minnetonka, Minn., to give students, staff, and alumni the opportunity to learn from and interact with leading scholars.
