Description

The Department of Music presents Barbara Leibundguth, faculty flute, accompanied by Sonja Thompson in concert at Bjorling Recital Hall. 'Flute, Old and New' features several new classics in the flute repertoire, including the rhythmic and driving "Sonata No. 1" by Mexican composer Samuel Zyman and the jazzy beat-boxing flute solo "Zoom Tube" by Ian Clarke. Rounding out the program are the virtuosic and tuneful "Konzertstücke" by Romantic-era composer Heinrich Hofmann, and a set of unaccompanied Baroque variations "Les Folies d'Espagne", by Marin Marais.

Admission is free and open to the public.

The performance will be livestreamed: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/gacadmin/.
