Black Athena is Cornell professor Martin Bernal's controversial argument for the possible African and Near Eastern origins of Classical Greek civilization. Dr. Rankine will discuss how communities in Latin America and Brazil have responded through their own myths of identity to Professor Bernal's arguments for an African origin of Greek civilization.
