Today marks the beginning of the season of Lent for Christians around the world. There will be a brief service of music, readings, and the imposition of ashes at 10am in the chapel.
Masks and social distancing are required. Seating with appropriate distance in the chapel will be marked. Participants will pick up a small container of ashes as they enter the chapel and will mark themselves with the sign of the cross at the appropriate time. As with all in-person events, please do not attend if you are feeling ill or have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild.
If you are uncomfortable joining in person or are unable to make it to the service, the Chaplains Office is offering a Ash Wednesday kit with ashes and a short prayer for the imposition of ashes for individuals or households to observe the day.
