2nd Gustavus Hispanic FilmFest - Un cuento chino [Chinese Take-Out]February 23, 2015 at 7–9:30 p.m.
Two years after its first edition, theGustavus Hispanic Film Festivalis back! All six screenings are free and open to the public, and will take place atWallenberg Auditorium on Mondays at 7pm. See attached flyer for dates and more information, and tell everyone you see, both on and off campus!
For our second week, we are screening Argentinian comedy Un cuento chino/Chinese Take-Out (Sebasti??n Borenzstein, 2012). Roberto, the grouchy owner of a hardware store in Buenos Aires, leads a lonely and quiet life. One day, he meets by chance a Chinese man named Jun who has just arrived to the city looking for his only living relative. Roberto speaks no Chinese; Jun speaks no Spanish. The screening will be introduced by Professor Marisa Kalbermatten (MLLC/Spanish). After the film, all guests are invited to stay for a panel discussion. There'll be popcorn as well!
