On Scholarship Day

Check-In & Parking: All Theatre/Dance finalists should check in for the 9:00 a.m. welcome in Christ Chapel. We will dismiss for classes, workshops, and sessions at 9:20 a.m.

For Dancers: Your day will consist of a technique class, an interview with faculty and students, and a performance of your prepared solo piece (no more than 2 minutes in length). Please bring movement clothing, ballet shoes (if you have them), and the music to accompany your solo piece. We will accept most digital formats for the music (phones, iPods, etc.), but keep in mind that burned CDs are not always reliable.

For Actors: Your day will consist of an acting workshop, an interview with faculty and students, and a performance of two prepared monologues (not to exceed 3 minutes in length combined). The monologues should be contrasting in tone, and can be from any genre. We strongly prefer content from published plays (no movies, TV shows, or original works, please). Please wear comfortable movement clothing (no suits, skirts, ties or high heels), and be prepared to work barefoot. Dressing rooms are available for students to change.

For Theatre Technicians: Your day will consist of an interview with faculty and students. Please bring a resume and portfolio of design work you have previously done, and be prepared to present it for department members. Your interview will last 10-15 minutes.
