Physics Tutoring

The Physics Department offers tutoring services to support students in their physics coursework. These tutoring services are typically provided by experienced upperclass students who have excelled in their physics studies.

These tutors are knowledgeable in the subject matter and can provide guidance and clarification on difficult concepts. See the schedule below for drop-in times to receive assistance with specific questions or problems. These sessions provide an informal and supportive environment for students to seek help as needed.

Physics Department Tutoring Code of Conduct

Students will work respectfully with one another as they seek help in their work and provide tutoring help.
Students will use the tutoring session to further academic understanding, seeking and providing help while maintaining academic honesty. Tutoring sessions are meant to provide help to those for areas of confusion, not merely solutions to problems.

Any student who engages in, or witnesses conduct counter to the code is instructed to first try to resolve the situation by working in an open manner with other students involved. Serious or ongoing conduct counter to the code should be reported to the tutoring supervisor or department chair, and may lead to loss of privilege of the use of departmental tutoring, or the loss of student work for tutors
