Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers in Athletics and Assistant Football Coach in Health and Exercise Science

Lucas Kleinschrodt begins his fourth season on staff for the Gustavus Adolphus football team in 2019, and third season as the defensive coordinator.

A native of Alden, Minnesota, Kleinschrodt graduated from Alden-Conger High School in 2010. From there, Lucas attended Gustavus where he graduated in 2013 with an undergraduate degree in Health Fitness. After graduating from Gustavus, he worked as a graduate assistant football coach at Augustana University from 2014-15 working with defensive backs. Kleinschrodt most recently coached at South Dakota State University as Quality Control working with the linebackers from Feb. 2016 to July 2016. 

Kleinschrodt was a four-year letterwinner for the Gusties as a linebacker. He recorded 146 tackles in 38 career games at Gustavus, ranking fifth on his team with a career-high 42 tackles his senior season in 2013. He finished his career with three interceptions, two fumble recoveries, four pass break-ups and four tackles for loss.

Kleinschrodt currently lives in Chaska with his wife, Ali.
