I go by a different name than the one that is on file with the College. Does this make a difference?
It does make a difference. Please send an email with any nicknames or other names you use. We will add it to our delivery system to insure the accurate and timely delivery of your letters and parcels.
What are the hours of operation for the College Mail Services?
Campus Mail Services is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
What time does the College get the daily mail?
The department of Mail Services picks up from the U.S. Postal Service at 8:00 am Monday through Friday.
What time does Mail Services start sorting the daily mail?
Mail Services begins sorting the daily mail as soon as it arrives on campus. Mail is generally placed in boxes or delivered to departments by 10 a.m. daily. The mail sorting and delivery time requirement expands and contracts, (based on volume and labor resources). All mail is processed on the day it is received.
How do I know if my package has arrived on the campus?
Packages that are shipped through private carriers are assigned tracking numbers and are usually traceable through the carriers' web sites. The tracking response will indicate when it arrived at Mail Services. Items mailed through the U.S. Postal Service are not traceable unless the sender has paid for additional services such as delivery confirmation (this only shows delivery to the Saint Peter Post Office, not the college). You can track packages shipped by UPS, DHL, FEDEX, Airborne Express and the U.S. Postal Service using the links on the left.
How are packages processed?
Student packages arrive throughout the day by several carriers. We process them in the order they are received with the exception of "express" or "overnight" packages which are processed immediately. When you receive a package, we will notify you through your Gustavus email account. Packages can be picked up between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Why do I need to show my I.D. card?
For the students' protection we may ask to see a valid form of a picture I.D. such as a driver’s license, campus ID card, etc. This helps to guarantee that we do not release a package to the wrong person.
Can I buy stamps at the College Post Office?
Yes, All denominations of stamps and postal supplies are available at the College Post Office. We offer envelopes, boxes, packing supplies and mailing forms. We also recycle packing materials for your use.
Do you take credit or debit cards?
No, we only take cash, check or you may charge it to your Gustavus account.
When does outgoing mail leave the College?
Mail is delivered to the Saint Peter Post Office at 2 p.m. daily, Monday-Friday.
What time does FedEx deliver inbound packages?
Delivery time is dependent on the service paid for by the shipper.

What time does UPS pick up outbound packages?
UPS picks up outbound packages at 10 a.m. You should have your package at the College Post Office no later than 9:00 p.m. for processing. If you have multiple packages, please plan accordingly.
