Preventive Care Notice...In order to maximize employee preventive health care through discussions directly with a primary care provider and with the onset of the new Sharecare platform offered to Blue Cross Blue Shield members, Gustavus will no longer be offering an annual blood draw lab. As we start out the new year, now is a great time to schedule your preventive care exam with your primary care provider.

Please note that you have access to a wide selection of complementary screenings through your medical insurance. A list of preventive care services for adults that are covered under Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota can be found here. If you have been diagnosed with a condition such as high cholesterol, your provider may not bill that test as preventive as it would then be a diagnostic test if the condition is being managed by the physician.

Medical Insurance Cards...If you received two sets of insurance cards in the mail from Blue Cross Blue Shield and the group (GRP) numbers are the same, feel free to use both cards. However, if the group numbers on the cards are different, use the card most recently received. If you are unsure which card is correct, please contact Nicole Goebel in the Office of Human Resources for clarification.
