Mathematica for Gustavus Students

The MCS department has a site license for Mathematica. As part of the license agreement, students may download and install a copy of Mathematica on their personal computer. The student copy will remain active during the semester that it was requested. The software can be reactivated by request.

  1. Go to the Wolfram homepage: This must be done on campus or through the Gustavus virtual lab
  2. Click on the link at the top of the page that says “Access Wolfram Tech at Gustavus Adolphus"
  3. This will open up a page prompting you to enter your name, email, and affiliation with the college.
  4. Click on send request
  5. An MCS faculty member will review your application and confirm that you are a student enrolled in an MCS course.
  6. If approved, you will receive an email with an activation key for Mathematica
  7. Return to the Wolfram homepage. Scroll down and click on “user portal”
  8. Create an account with the same email used for your access request (GusMail account)
  9. Once you verify your account and the request is approved, you should be able to download Mathematica on your personal device (either MAC or WIN)
