Student Employment at the Technology Helpline

Working at the Technology Helpline is fun and a great way to grow your technology and customer service skills. Apply to work for us at: gustavus.edu/helplineapp. We typically begin the hiring process in November every year.

Successful candidates will have strong communication skills and a desire to learn and try new things, and be on campus for January Term. Please note that we typically give priority to underclassmen.

We will be conducting interviews the first two weeks of December; making hiring decisions before the term ends and will start with a series of training sessions (which you will be paid for) during January Term. Our goal is to have our new employees ready to work with the start of Spring Semester.

Who works for us?

During the academic year, the Technology Helpline typically employs between 30 and 50 student employees, each working between 4 and 8 hours/week. During the summer, we employ between 5 and 10 student employees, working 40 hours/week. Our employees come from all majors and classes.

What do we do?

Student Technology Helpline employees work at our Helpline location in the Olin Hall Computer Lab or our satellite location in the Library. The position is a great way to gain customer service and technology skills, while working in a fast paced, fun environment. We provide training and mentoring during your employment, and promise to grow your technology, leadership, problem solving and communication skills. Work-study approval is optional.
