Work in the Writing Center as a tutor. Help students from all academic disciplines to clarify writing assignments, develop a thesis, find and organize arguments, structure paragraphs and improve grammar, punctuation and mechanics. Offer workshops to new students to help them understand the demands of college level writing. The Writing Center seeks tutors from all majors, and opportunities exist to work closely with professors who teach writing courses across the college. Writing Center tutors must attend several training sessions at the beginning of the semester, as well as weekly staff meetings throughout the year. Tutors must be good writers themselves and must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others.
