JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to provide operational and administrative support to the Career Development office. The position acts as a catalyst acting between the office and its constituents to ensure continuity and quality of service and programs. The position reports to the Executive Director of the Career Development Center. 

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide exceptional administrative support (including budget support) to the executive director and other Career Specialists. 
  • Provide and ensure exceptional customer service and support for all front desk-related operations. Including coordination of the CDC’s student worker training program.
  • Provide direct oversight of the center’s student workers and front desk protocols.
  • As directed by supervisor, provide strategic support for the operation’s routine (and annual assessment processes. 
  • As directed by supervisor, provide support for the CDC’s emerging student and alumni Outcomes and Recognition-related initiatives.
  • Help manage events, meetings and space scheduling as requested. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Prerequisites

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma is required, Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, general computer skills and ability to learn new relevant technologies required. 
  • Being detail-orientated is critical. Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to keep confidentiality is required. 
  • Ability to work independently is required.  
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and multi-task with frequently changing priorities. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience supervising college student staff, managing office operations including creation of systems and procedures to insure effectiveness.
  • Working knowledge and prior experience with recruiting software (Symplicity, Handshake) is a plus (but not a requirement for consideration). 
  • Student record management (Starfish, or similar), Adobe suite, and Google products such as Google Drive, Google Cal and/or similar technology.
