Currently there are some new viruses around the residence network. We believe they are W32.Sober.O@mm and W32.Kelvir.BD, please visit Symantec and read up on these.

Dan and Ethan will be quarantining the users that are infected with these viruses. A quarantined user will only be able to see a "you are quarantined" web page - when making web requests. Other services will continue to work, but all web requests will show them the quarantine page. The quarantine page will instruct them to run a safe mode scan with current defs. Defs need to be dated after 5/2/2005.

Users will also be directed to call the Helpline with questions.

They will also have to contact the Helpline to be re-enabled. Please ask Dan or Ethan to scan their machine, and if they are found to be virus-free, un-quarantine them.
