Dr. Katey Walter Anthony, Associate Professor of Water & Environment at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks will be giving a talk titled "Permafrost Thaw and Methane Emissions From Arctic Lakes."

It will be held Thursday, September 24at 7:00 pm in Nobel Hall, Room 201.

Katey is an aquatic ecologist and biogeochemist who studies greenhouse gas emissions from permafrost and thermokarst lakes in Alaska and Siberia. Her research has been featured by Nature, Science, National Geographic, The Tipping Points TV series, the New York Times, ScienceDaily, and many others. She is an enthusiastic field researcher and lover of outdoor adventure.
